HOW TO GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD DURING AN INTERVIEW

Have you ever found yourself in an interview and unable to keep your mind from running in multiple different directions?

Well, job seekers, this is a feeling many individuals experience when trying to get through an interview.

You might find yourself trying to put answers together for questions that haven’t even been asked yet. You may find you’re coaching yourself to stay calm and shake off nervousness. Then when you are finally asked the question you’re worried about, it may be difficult to get the words out the way you want.

I get it. It can be hard to stay out of your head during an interview, but it can be accomplished.

This week’s video, I will share with you my favorite steps that will surely keep you clear and focused during your next interview.

Don’t get me wrong, these steps may not bring results overnight. Just like anything else, you will have to put in some practice and dig deep within yourself to bring forth that confidence you somehow pushed aside.

Hello Jobseekers, Jennifer Tardy here and you are tuning in to the #CareerSuccess channel for UPs. Today I will be sharing steps on how to get out of your own head while in an interview. This can create temporary anxiety and careless mistakes that can easily be avoided. You don’t want to create a ritual of this type of behavior, so the information I discuss will surely help put your mind at ease.

Do you always find yourself constantly thinking about how to change your answers differently from the way you originally planned? Do you feel like you have to be a different person to please the employer or company, even if it means turning yourself into a different person? In order to have success while interviewing and feel relaxed, you must learn how to get out of your head for good! Let’s get right into the steps!


Step #1: Stop Trying To Falsely Appeal To Interviewers
Don’t think about what they want to hear
Don’t impress them with lies
Speak the truth and from the heart
Always be authentic


Step #2: Know Your Own Strength
Know that you already know the answers
Ease your mind by recalling those answers
Be confident in yourself

Step #3: Be Present During The Interview
Use your senses
Observe the interviewer and your surroundings to help keep you focused on what’s happening in the present before your eyes.
