How to Answer the Interview Question: What Is Your Weakness?

This is a trick question. When you answer, always respond with something that is a weakness for you but can benefit an employer. Here is an example. You can say, “my weakness is that sometimes I work so hard that I don’t stop to smell the roses. I do not stop to celebrate my accomplishments as often as I should.” This can truly be a weakness for you, but it is positive for the employer insinuating that you will be a hard-working employee. If you are not able to think of a good answer for this, also consider sharing a weakness, but also telling the employer what you have been doing to fix this weakness. Here is an example. You can say, “public speaking hasn’t been a strength for me in the past, but I’ve been involved with Toastmasters and can already see self-improvement.
