Company: EQ.Community

Founder: Marcus Sawyerr | LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/marcus-sawyerr-593a716/

About EQ:

EQ.Community is a global private members community empowering multicultural professionals to thrive. We bridge the gap between meaningful opportunities and diverse talent. Our members benefit from: Connections: building meaningful networks, Community: supporting and learning from one another, Careers: access to exclusive opportunities, and Capital: gain equity at fast growing companies

Our corporate members are typically growing tech-enabled companies who have expressed a strong interest in capturing the best talent and cultivating a diverse workforce.

History of EQ:

EQ was founded by Marcus Sawyerr, a former Fortune 500 Executive turned startup founder who has spent the last 15 years working within online recruitment and digital transformation - most recently as Global Head of Digital Innovation and President of The Adecco Group's digital innovation unit. After becoming increasingly frustrated over the lack of access to meaningful and life-changing jobs, especially for people of color, he started EQ Community to empower capable and diverse talent to thrive.

How EQ helps organizations to increase diversity:

EQ helps organizations reinforce their DE&I employer value proposition and meet their diversity goals by connecting with our community of professionals and through premium talent pipeline building & hiring services. Access to the community allows engagement with and the potential to recruit multicultural talent, whilst promoting the employer brand, learning best practices in building a DE&I program, and highlighting their commitment to building a diverse and inclusive company. Premium hiring services offer tailored recruitment support such as a hand-picked slate of diverse candidates and support for managing the short list and scheduling interviews.

Company: Fairstream

Founder: Luke Mocke  | Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lukemocke/

About Fairstream:

Fairstream connects employers to diverse communities through virtual events. They have helped organizations like Pinterest, Starbucks, and Qualtrics host and attend events with Latinas in Tech, Women Tech Council, YearUp and many more.

 Starting Fairstream:

I've seen far too many candidates miss out on trajectory-changing opportunities because they lacked the network or access to opportunity. As a first-generation college grad from South Africa, I know how hard it can be to succeed when the odds are stacked against you. That's why I'm hell bent on elevating underrepresented talent and closing the gap between these amazing job seekers and the right employers!

How Fairstream helps organizations to increase diversity:

Diverse communities exist and are thriving (think Latinas in Tech, YearUp, Women Tech Council) but employers aren't consistently tapping into their talent pools because they're fractured and all work with employers differently. Fairstream brings 40+ (and counting) Latino, African American, LGBTQ+, Women, Native American, Veteran, and Disabled communities together under one roof and makes it simple for employers to recruit their members through events. Employers get a flood of untapped talent by extending access to their opportunities!

Company: Learning Motherhood

Founder: Kimberly Didrikson | LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kimberly-didrikson-1957882/

About Learning Motherhood:

Learning Motherhood is a consulting agency created to assist organizations in retaining their working families while providing community, education and resources designed to empower parents to thrive at home and in the workplace as they grow their family.

How Learning Motherhood helps organizations to increase diversity:

We have a deep focus on supporting mothers through the transition back to work after parental leave and providing these resources for organizations to offer their new parents. The reality is that 42% of women have left the workforce who have children ages 0-2 during COVID-19. Our goal is to significantly decrease this number by giving new mothers a roadmap to thrive through this transition with our signature program, the return-to-work video series. We offer this series directly to moms and organizations to provide their working families with the support they desperately need, assisting in closing the gender equity gap, and designed to increase women in leadership roles.

Increasing diversity is really all about connection and conversation. These three organizations are creating bridges built on the necessary connection and conversation needed to create truly inclusive environments.

Join us in the conversation below: What organizations do you admire for their work in increasing diversity? Maybe we will interview them next.
