On Tuesday, I was excited to share the news that JTC has completed five years of service! Over the last five years, we have had the opportunity to meet some very inspiring individuals who are leading their organizations and creating positive change in their communities. 

Staying true to our mission of increasing diversity, I am excited to announce Team JTC’s inaugural Increase Diversity™ Awards. 

To a workplace, increasing diversity means moving the needle in a positive and effective direction toward creating well-represented candidate pools, equitable hiring processes, and inclusive workplace environments. 

To an individual, increasing diversity means representation. And not just representation for the sake of representation. It represents true Lived Experience Intelligence® that comes from taking a chance on yourself in spite of having to navigate inequity in  hiring and/or and business. Your desire to reach for more has triumphed. 

And here at JTC, we want to acknowledge both these ends of the spectrum. This is Team JTC’s way of celebrating you! 

Creating ACCESS to Increase Diversity™ Awards

Our vision is that the Increase Diversity™ Awards be a catalyst for further positive change and more empowerment for those who are creating more equity so that more individuals from historically underrepresented groups have access. I would also like to highlight here that the Increase Diversity™ Awards are hosted on our soon to be launched Increase Diversity™ website centered on dismantling hiring bias and increasing diversity, so be sure to take a sneak peak. 

Now, let’s get into the awards!!!

Applying as a WORKPLACE (Employer of Choice Award) and applying as an INDIVIDUAL (Bet on Yourself Award)

The 2023 Increase Diversity™ Awards recognizes workplaces moving the needle to increase diversity and promote a culture of inclusion, as well as individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds who bet on themselves daily while journeying to the top of their profession. 

For the inaugural  Increase Diversity™ Awards, we have two categories:

  • Increase Diversity™ Employer of Choice Award. This award recognizes top workplaces taking effective action toward increasing diversity through hiring and retention programs, staff education and training, and workplace culture initiatives. Companies who are eligible to apply for this award are those that are moving the needle in this direction. We will consider companies of varying employee and revenue sizes, and business types.

  • Increase Diversity™ Bet on Yourself Award. This award recognizes individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds (e.g., women, people of color, veterans, people with disabilities, and individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, etc.) who BET ON THEMSELVES daily while journeying to the top of their profession - both inside and outside of the workplace. You can nominate yourself or others for this award and we welcome individuals from all levels of career.
