Never Tell A Candidate That They Are Not A Good Cultural Fit

Have you ever heard another diversity recruiter or interviewer tell an individual they are interviewing or simply talking to that they weren’t a good cultural fit which later left you questioning if that was even appropriate to say to a potential candidate?

Well, I’m here to let you know in this video that it is NOT appropriate to tell someone that they are not a good cultural fit.

Protecting company culture is so important but you don’t want to do so in a demeaning manner.

Within this week’s episode, I share three major reasons why you should NEVER let the words ‘not a good cultural fit’ come out your mouth.

The three major reasons are saying cultural fit can be perceived as exclusionary, saying cultural fit can be perceived as discriminatory, and finally, saying cultural fit isn’t saying what you really mean.

So take some notes and remember what was discussed the next time you sit down with a candidate.

The information I share could possibly save you from losing job seekers and allow you to remain a trusting diversity recruiter within your community and field of work.
