Frequently Asked Questions
We've compiled a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions to provide you with insights into the summit dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the modern workplace.
Q1: Can I attend this event if I am NOT a recruiter?
A: Absolutely. This event is for anyone who influences hiring outcomes or retention strategies. That includes recruiters (corporate and agency), DEI practitioners, HR business partners, career counselors, workplace leaders, ERG leaders, etc. Increasing diversity and retention will take all of us to be aligned before true transformation is created. Once you register, be sure to tell a peer about this event, too!
Q2: I want to attend, but I cannot afford the ticket cost.
A: Consider checking in with your workplace to see if they offer sponsorship to conferences, or find out whether your company offers a budget dedicated to professional development or educational expense coverage. Be sure to mention that groups of five (5) or more receive 10% off their ticket prices!
Q3: What if we do not have a formal DEI office or diversity recruiting model established within our company; should we still attend?
A: Absolutely. Come as you are. We look forward to sharing insights and resources necessary to take steps to effectively establish inclusive hiring and retention practices at your workplace.
Q4: We are already good with our diversity recruiting practices, so why should we attend this event?
A: Even if you feel like your workplace is in a solid place with your diversity recruiting strategies, come and learn about effective retention strategies too. In addition, we break down each state of the standard hiring process: find, attract, engage, select, employ. So, you may find some specific, more in-depth strategies to further strengthen your diversity recruiting program or take it to the next level.
Q5: I have too many employees that need to attend from my department. I cannot send them all and have no clue how to decide.
A: Have you considered making this a team building effort? If your employees are in the same location, consider purchasing the Stream to Team Group Ticket. This way, you can be in one room and watch together. It could be a more economical option for larger teams who are centrally located.
Q6: Is this event for me?
A: Yes, we unpack two concepts: (#1) increasing diversity and (#2) increasing retention within the Increase Diversity™ Summit Experience.
Q7: How will the Increase Diversity™ Summit Experience be any different than the usual diversity recruiting events where the audience walks away with generic, surface-level information? I’m not interested in more of the same.
A: This will be a unique experience where we dive deeply into workflows, self-ID campaigns, the challenge with skill proxy, the paper ceiling, etc. We talk about present day challenges and how it all connects back to this idea of our ability to effectively assess our candidates and employees without bias. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience.
Q8: How do we fit this summit experience in when this is such a busy season for us? We are (or will be) in the middle of recruiting season.
A: Yes, we definitely understand how busy your teams, especially recruiting teams, can be between the months of August - November as it’s recruiting season. Consider purchasing a VIP ticket. This will allow you to watch what you can live (which will be awesome!) and also catch the replay of the event at your leisure.
Q9: Would this be a good event to attend even if our hiring has slowed down or we have instituted a hiring freeze?
A: Absolutely. The Increase Diversity™ Summit Experience is a great opportunity to gain new ideas and perspectives that will support inclusive recruiting practices now and in the future. Take what you learn at this event and use the slow recruiting season as an opportunity to process-improve and proactively prepare for the uptick in hiring that may be around the corner.
Q10: We have had some rounds of layoffs at our company, so we aren’t really thinking about hiring or retention right now.
A: Even companies that have laid off employees (or are in the midst of laying off employees) can still hire and retain employees - just not into the same roles that were eliminated. This is where you can gain best practices. And now, more than ever, is the best time to come to the Increase Diversity™ Summit Experience to also unpack inclusive retention strategies as well.
